What Is a Same Day Courier Service?
A same day courier collects an item and delivers it on the same day it's booked. Unlike a parcel network, the item usually travels directly in one vehicle without going through a depot.
How same day courier works
You book a collection, the courier drives to your address, loads the item and takes it straight to the destination. Because there's no sorting centre, there's less handling and far more control over timing.
Same day vs next day delivery
Next day services gather many parcels, sort them overnight and deliver on a fixed route. They're cheaper for small parcels, but slower and less flexible. Same day delivery is for when time, care or size matters.
When to use one
Use a same day courier for urgent business deliveries, missed deadlines, valuable or fragile items, furniture and anything too large for a parcel service.
What to look for
Choose a courier who gives honest timings, explains insurance clearly, and can carry the size of item you need. Being able to call the person who has your item is a big advantage.
