How Much Does Pallet Delivery Cost?
There is no single price for pallet delivery. The cost depends on what you are sending, how far it is going, how quickly it needs to arrive and the access at each end. Here are the main factors.
Distance
Longer journeys cost more, and some remote areas, islands and Highlands postcodes carry surcharges on pallet networks.
Pallet dimensions
Pallets are priced by footprint and height. A standard UK pallet is 1200 x 1000 mm; a Euro pallet is 1200 x 800 mm. Taller pallets take more space on the vehicle and cost more.
Weight
Heavier pallets cost more to move. Most networks have weight bands, so knowing the approximate weight helps us quote accurately.
Quarter, half and full pallets
Pallet services usually price quarter, half and full pallets differently based on height and weight. Choosing the right size for your goods can make a real difference to the cost.
Stackable vs non-stackable
If another pallet can safely sit on top of yours, it is stackable and usually cheaper. Non-stackable pallets take up the full height of the space and cost more.
Residential vs commercial addresses
Business addresses with a loading bay or forklift are the most straightforward. Residential deliveries often need a tail-lift vehicle and may carry an extra charge.
Tail-lift requirements
If there is no forklift at collection or delivery, a tail-lift vehicle is needed to lower the pallet to the ground. Tell us at the quote stage so the right vehicle is booked.
Same-day vs network transport
Pallet networks are the most cost-efficient option for standard timescales. When a pallet is urgent, fragile or high value, a dedicated vehicle can collect and deliver directly, at a higher price.
UK vs European movements
European pallets can travel as groupage alongside other consignments or on a dedicated vehicle. They take longer than UK movements and need the correct customs documentation.
Information required to obtain a quote
Collection and delivery postcodes, number of pallets, dimensions, approximate weight, whether pallets are stackable, whether a tail lift or forklift is needed, the ready date and when it needs to arrive.
