Part load / LTL
Part Load & LTL Freight Services
If your consignment is too large for a pallet service but doesn't fill a trailer, part load transport lets you pay for the space you use while still getting a reliable, planned movement.

What is part load haulage?
Part load, also called LTL (less than truckload), means your goods share a vehicle with other consignments travelling a similar route. It typically sits between pallet delivery and full load haulage, and is often the most cost-efficient option for several pallets or bulky commercial goods.
Through our trusted network of UK and European transport partners, we can arrange the right vehicle and service for each movement, from dedicated vans and pallet transport through to full artic loads and European road freight.

When part load makes sense
Part load works well when you have flexibility on timing, goods that are suitable to share space, and volumes that would be wasted in a dedicated trailer. If timing is critical or goods can't be shared, a full load or dedicated vehicle is usually better.
Part load to and from Europe
We arrange European part loads and groupage for businesses moving goods between the UK and Europe. See European road freight for the options available.
Frequently asked questions
Is part load slower than full load?
It can be, because the vehicle may make other collections and deliveries. We'll give you realistic timescales when quoting.
What's the difference between groupage and part load?
Groupage usually refers to smaller consignments consolidated with many others. Part load is for larger consignments that take a significant share of a vehicle.
